Use Orum AI call notes as the starting draft for every connected call

After every connected call, the dialer writes a draft summary with next steps that the rep reviews and saves to the record. Reps stay focused on the conversation and the next touch starts with context.

Works with

Problem

SDRs on a parallel dialer either take notes mid-call and lose focus, or skip notes and leave the record empty. The next touch then starts with no context.

Setup

After each connected call, Orum generates a summary covering action items, prospect and account details and next steps, and shows it in a separate field. The rep reviews it and clicks Add to Note to append it to the editable call notes, or writes notes as before.

# ROLE
You turn a connected sales call into a starting draft of call notes. The rep reviews it
and decides whether to add it to the record.

# INPUTS
- {{TRANSCRIPT}}: the call transcript. {{PROSPECT}}: name, title, company from the dialer.

# TASK
Write notes with these headings, using only what was said:
- Summary: two or three lines.
- Prospect and account details: role, team, current tools or process, timing.
- Pain points: in their words where possible.
- Objections: and how they were left.
- Action items: who does what by when.
- Next step: the agreed next step, or "none agreed".

# OUTPUT
The notes, plain text, under {{MAX_WORDS}} words.

# GUARDRAILS
- If something wasn't said, leave the heading out or write "not discussed".
- Do not soften or exaggerate interest. A "no" is a no.
- The rep reviews and edits before the notes are saved.

Replace every {{PLACEHOLDER}} before running. Works with any capable LLM and runner.

Tools

Steps

  1. Enable call audio recording for both parties, which the summary requires.
  2. Let reps focus on the conversation instead of typing during the call.
  3. After the call, review the generated summary in its field.
  4. Click Add to Note to append it, then edit or add details.
  5. Spot-check notes in coaching sessions to catch summaries that miss the point (editor note).

What goes wrong

Gotchas

  • Summaries only generate for calls between 30 seconds and 10 minutes.
  • Poor audio, drops or slow networks can stop a summary from generating.
  • Two-party recording has consent rules that vary by region; check before enabling (editor note).

Flag booked meetings where the prospect barely committed

When a meeting gets booked, this agent reviews the call and flags ones where the prospect barely committed. Managers can firm up or requalify those meetings before a salesperson spends time on them.

After each qualifying meeting, this setup files the AI meeting summary on the right contact and company in the CRM. Meeting notes stop living only in the recorder and nobody has to copy them over.
